Creativity and art have long been an important part of my life. As a child my two brothers were a few years older than I, so living in the country, I spent a great deal of time by myself. A favorite pastime besides reading and dreaming was drawing nature scenes as I sat on my favorite rock beside a gurgling brook. There were always things to investigate .

When I was a young mother with a brood of four my sweet husband remembered my art desires. One Christmas he gave me a small oil kit and essential supplies. But even more wonderful he watched the young ones one night each week so I could go to art lessons with friends. I was in my glory. But within a few months we bought a pharmacy in Au Sable Forks and moved from downstate N.Y. My art was put on hold…..for a long time.
Sometime in my fifties the urge surfaced again. Empty nest was happening and art and creativity emerged once more. I played around in oils and then tried watercolors. I awoke. While I have been fortunate to take some workshops with some amazing artists, a lot of my education has been trial and error. There was a portrait workshop that became available and I felt that there was no way I was capable of doing that. But I said yes. Not only did I learn but I became hooked.

As I progressed in my art, I was also into my spiritual journey. I soon became aware that my art came through me. I was given a beautiful gift. When I felt challenged about how to proceed, I would ask for guidance. I would find myself going into a zone and things happened. When I was done and stepped back, I would be amazed at what had appeared on my canvas. It was not me, but through me.
Please enjoy my postings here as I share some of my work with you.
